Nostalgia

Flickering lights everywhere
Happy faces of mostly children who look forward to wearing their new clothes and shoes.
Christmas carols blaring on every radio.
The sound and smell of frying meat and chin chin has changed the stuffy harmattan wind.

Today the only constant is the harmattan beating down and hard.
The Christmas lights today is a show of affluence
Carols have been replaced with music parties and trending Naija songs.
Frying can be heard but mostly done in the secrecy of the individual homes.
I long for those days but I remain thankful for today most especially for life.
I remain forever thankful.
Merry Christmas
